July 7, 2008 - Swim Classes Begin

I started swim lessons this week. My parents think I'm going to be bored in the summer. It's at a toddler and baby friendly pool, so it's warmer than the usual community pools. I wonder if the fact that we don't wear diapers helps warm the water up?

PorPor and GongGong brought me for the first few classes since Mommy was at work.

Hmmmm..... it looks kinda scary.

Well, maybe if I can check out those squeeze toys....

This picture was taken 5 seconds before I started wailing. Good luck GongGong! (He had to go home for a nap afterwards. My crying for half the class stressed him out. Mommy's in charge of the next lessons.)

Jungle Gym anyone?

Welcome to my igloo. Mommy and Daddy picked this out at IKEA. Just perfect for the summer heat.

I can put all my animals in it. And I can fit Daddy in it.

July 4, 2008 - Happy 71st Birthday, YehYeh

Happy 71st Birthday, YehYeh. We went for Chinese food and had a huge melon soup!

I got to try out chopsticks, which makes me soooooo happy. I want to eat just like you adults.

Happy Canada Day!

Happy Canada Day! We went to Granville Island and bumped into so many of Mommy and Daddy's friends... Ryan, Carole, Edgrrr, Bill, Heather, Steve, Mark, Janet, Vanessa, Brendan, Christine, Angel, I-mak, Z-mak, Jocelyn and Oscar.

The weather was fantastic. There were celebrations all throughout the park. We had brunch at our regular spot in the Public Market first. I had a taste of Mommy's beef stew pot pie. Mmmmm.... puff pastry, stew, carrots and potatoes.

I took a walk through the crowds in my hat, sunglasses and Canadian flag. Notice that I still fit the Canada Day onesie I wore last year?

Being patriotic is a serious affair.

At the end, we discovered the kids' water park. It was crowded on this scorching day! We didn't bring any wet gear.

But, we ran into Auntie Heather and Uncle Steve. Zoe was napping so she lent me her bathing suit and a swim diaper. Sweet! I'm headed to the water canons!

When Zoe finally came out to play, she got a little wet in her regular clothes. Here's Uncle Steve carting her off to change. Thanks again for the loan! I'll bring my stuff next time. Mommy dried me off by letting me play in the sand box. We did have extra regular diapers. Nice!

Sleep is precious

I've been waking up at 5am each morning. I don't think Mommy likes it. But, how can I sleep with all the sunlight and noisy crows? She put this stuff up on my windows last night.

Is that tinfoil ?! Ummmm..... I think we need some better shades.

Switching to soft solids and soy milk

I'm graduating from mushy food to soft solids. But, I never get enough to eat if I use the spoon myself. It's too fun to whip the food off the side of my highchair. Hee, hee....

I've also switched to fortified soy milk and formula 'cause I'm done with breastfeeding. I'm allergic to cows milk 'tho. Yuck! I'm missing out on ice cream!

More pix around the neighbourhood and house

I like my hat. It means I'm going out.

MahMah and I went to a music class at the community centre. We dance, dance, dance and shake, shake, shake!

I also like my purse. I'm such a girl!

If I'm tired, I like to sit down on the step stool or on the staircase.

I think I'm ready to go to a gymnastics class.

Mommy! I don't need my ears cleaned!

The gardener finally fixed the yard!

Our yard was in a sad state before the gardener came to fix it. The bushes and shrubs were moved to the side and grass was sown in the middle. Fresh grass with no doggie doo! All for me!

My lovely locks

My hair is getting long. It's grown back nicely since my cradle cap days at 2 months old. Remember when I had male pattern baldness?

So they tried a few ways to get the hair out of my eyes. A rubber band sorta worked.

Perhaps a hairclip?

Mommy got me a nice big pink flower clip. But, I don't like things in my hair.

Mommy decided to give me a hair cut. Snip, snip, snip as I wiggle around.

What do you think? I got a bowl cut!

What happened to my rakish bangs?! Mommy!!!!

A Day at the Park

Vancouver rains a lot. The weather was good for a few days. So, I'm off to the park. I'm not too keen on sitting in my stroller anymore. I can walk there!

OK, I'll hold your hand for a little bit, GongGong. But, the park isn't scary y'know.

There are so many things in the grass. Where are those doggies?

A twig for you!

Kaufu A came out to visit too.

At the end of the outing, I'm exhausted. It's nap time.
