DaDa's Doppleganger

DiDi looks more like Daddy as a baby than I did.

Me at 9 months old last year.

April 12/09 - Easter Weekend with Emily

It was my second Easter and Emily invited me over for an Easter egg hunt.

Now, how many have I found?

I wasn't sure what the point of finding these eggs were. After Emily showed me they were made of chocolate, I wouldn't let them go. So much chocolate!

Notice how engrossed I am with my (first ever) chocolate eggs? I ate too much and threw up my lunch in bed at naptime -- Mommy was so pleased. Thanks for inviting us Em! I had so much fun!

Happy 40th Birthday DaDa!

DaDa turned 40 in March. Mommy took him to Kobe and DiDi got to go. Not fair since I had to stay home -- it started way past my bedtime. But, as you can see, I'm all ready to go. Got my shoes on!

That's what happened when DaDa blew out his 40 candles.

Here's DiDi and Ronan, parked across from each other.

He was sound asleep during dinner despite there being some noise from the neighbouring tables.

We went out for another dinner the next day. It started much earlier so I could go too.

Yummy birthday cake! It's all about icing for me.

It's Spa Time

It's hair cut time again. Daddy now does the hair cutting since Mommy gave me really uneven ie. bad "bowl" cuts. Mommy clips my finger and toe nails instead.

DiDi got his first manicure too.

More Ducks at Granville Island

After swimming class, we sometimes go to Granville Island. Imagine my delight when I saw all these birds. We got some birdseed and I fed the ducks!

Well, I fed the pigeons and geese too.

Hmmm... is that squab? I know I like duck!

Eat more!

GongGong gets to watch over DiDi in the corner.

All this stuff fits in the mini-van. Mommy says she's liking the car... it feels like a large purse (or, her favourite, a large piece of luggage).

DiDi at 3 months - 17 lbs

DiDi is a chubbo chubbo. He weighs 17 lbs at 3 months old and wears 6-9 month old clothing. He's wayyyyy too heavy for me to hold.

Look at those chins.

Daddy Watching Us While Mommy Was Out

Daddy was babysitting us the other day. We watched sports. DiDi got rocked in the papasan. Daddy says that we're a breeze. Look what we did!

Wearing green and hoping for the luck of the Irish. By the way, happy birthday Uncle A!

March 2009 - DiDi's Extreme Cradle Cap

After the moon yuet, DiDi started to get scaly skin on his face and scalp. Uh oh... he looks like he's getting the same thing I had.... cradle cap!

It started out with a little flaking.

Then it got worse and worse. His whole head became a crust of yellow and he progressively lost his hair. He wasn't too happy either. He had to be held and rocked 24/7 because he was so irritable. Poor little guy.

More hair came out. Look how unhappy he was.

It got so bad that his entire face and body were affected too.

Yikes! This looks horrible and painful! He looks like Sandman! I never got it this bad.

Auntie Cathy took one look at him at his doctor's appointment and promptly sent him to the pediatric dermatologist. He diagnosed atopic dermatitis and prescribed "magic oil" slathered all over. Mommy has to cut back on eating egg, dairy and shellfish to see if he's allergic.
Amazingly, within 12 hours of being covered in magic oil, DiDi looked like this!

He smiled! He was alright with being put in the crib for the first time in 5 weeks! He didn't cry to be held. He stopped swiping his hands at his scalp. He smiled and slept for 3 hours straight for the first time ever. Mommy felt so bad that it took her so long to get treatment. It must have been really itchy. My cradle cap went away by itself.

No hair on DiDi, but all smiles and giggles after "magic oil".
