May 25/09 - DiDi is 4 months old

My little brother is 4 months old. He's very entertained by my sun garden. He tries to reach for the wind chimes and crinkly flowers. They all go straight into his mouth.

Meanwhile, my motor skills aren't too bad either. Here I am ,hammering at the piano keys. This piano used to be Mommy's, KauFu A and R. Hmmmm... I need one.

GongGong set up my personal wading pool in the backyard when we went to visit. KauFu A is in charge of refilling my tub.

May 15/09 - My weekend with YehYeh & MahMah; TJ was in Seattle

MahMah and YehYeh took care of me this weekend because Mommy, Daddy and DiDi went to Seattle for a meeting.

MahMah and YehYeh brought me to Lonsdale Quay. I met up with my aunties.

I got to ride the SeaBus and SkyTrain!

My stroller came in handy since I was so tired from all that exploring. Thanks for letting me take over your house MahMah and YehYeh!

DiDi had gone to Seattle. I think he slept most of the time. In this picture, he fell asleep grabbing onto his links.

Mommy, PorPor and DiDi found the cheese festival in Seattle. Here they are at the Pike Place fisherman's wharf, sampling cheese. Unfortunately, DiDi's eczema came raging back afterwards. So, Mommy has figured out what triggered his atopic dermatitis -- no more dairy allowed for Mommy.

TJ is a goo machine. He makes lots of drool.

There's Daddy with his conference badge.

May 10/09 - Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day! Daddy and I let Mommy sleep in today. Daddy made my breakfast and we played downstairs. Where was I in this picture you ask?

I was too busy trying to open my birthday presents! Mommy, I think you'll have to share your day with me all the time.

I'll make you some coffee or tea with my new tea set.

There's more cake!

Well, today, I plan to only have cake and sugar crystals for lunch. And, no Daddy, I cannot share.

We also had leftover balloons. I was allowed to open one present every 2-3 days. The suspense!!

I can't wait until my next birthday party! I'll learn to share better next time.

My Nemo Birthday Cake - the details

I must tell you a little bit about my Nemo birthday cake.

It was an amazing creation made by Mommy's former colleague, Auntie Charmaine. ("former" because she gave up being a doctor to be a pastry chef). Auntie Charmaine even remembered Nemo's bum fin on one side. These pictures are taken from her blog website: http://charmainepastry.blogspot.com/.

Chocolate and vanilla cake with vanilla mousseline and strawberries were the flavours. Nemo's rolled fondant "skin" was painted by both airbrush and hand. Auntie Charmaine used 3 different sugaring techniques to create the blue water (sheet of bubbled sugar), green seaweed (pulled sugar) and orange/purple coral (rock sugar).
The cake was delicious. We ate the leftovers for a week. I hope she can keep on making my birthday cakes in the future! Thanks!

May 9/09 - Happy 2nd Birthday to Me!

It's my 2nd birthday! We invited 16 kids and started at 10:30am. So many people in my house. There was cake, hotdogs, pizza, BBQ, pop, juice and balloons! I was in hog heaven.

I tried very hard to be good at sharing my toys. I just wouldn't let anyone into my party ballroom, as shown in this picture.

But, when the bouncy room arrived, I was flabbergasted. I didn't have to worry about sharing any of my toys. Everyone just wanted to play in the bouncy room.

It was a madhouse of screaming, running little kids. What fun! I wonder why Mommy and Daddy started serving wine and beer at 11am?

DiDi wasn't too excited. He thought sitting on MahMah's lap was just fine.

I had a lunch of banana muffin/cupcakes with sides of hotdog, chips and watermelon. The icing was great too. Mommy -- what is this great stuff called sugar? You've been holding out on me.

At one point, everyone stopped and Mommy came out with this giant Nemo! Everyone sang to me.... "happy birthday to you....."

Again, as you can see, there is no way anyone is taking this cupcake away from me.

We took lots of pictures outside and inside the house. I wouldn't hold still for any of them.

Hmmm... I think I need another cupcake. Just reaching over to the cupcake tower inbetween pix.

The excitement got to a few of my friends. Some were scared by the noise, some had a tantrum before leaving and some smiled and gave me a hug. All of us were pooped by 1:30pm. I lasted until 3:30pm at which point I konked out from exhaustion.
My guests were so kind, bringing me so many birthday presents. Thanks for coming over and celebrating with me!
