Didi and tether ball

Didi finally got a chance to hit the t-ball. He was so excited!

Bike camp at Pedalheads!

I'm learning how to ride a bike this week. It was at the school grounds and what super fun! I can ride without my training wheels. They let us ride thru sprinklers and traffic cones! It was great for a hot summer day. I was so sweaty that mommy put me in the shower as soon as I got home.

It's so hot, I'm wilting!

Play dough!

Here are Didi's creatures. He loved putting gigantic eyeballs on each.

Here are mine! I strung them up and made a dolphin necklace.

Thanks for a great trip!

We are strapped in and ready for the long ride home. Thanks for the great time Uncle T and Auntie J!

Mommy packed in all her shopping, our cooler of drinks, the double stroller and there was still tons of room in the minivan! Until next time.

Pinball Again

All the boys loved the pinball. Didi was pleased to get the chance to spend daddy's quarters again.

Fascinated!

After lunch desserts, Voodoo Doughnuts part 2, Yum!

He was happier with voodoo doughnut options, where we went after lunch for a sweet treat.

Eating at Old Wives Tale, Daddy seems skeptical

It was a restaurant geared for people with food allergies. Mommy found it on a "Mommies" blog. All menu items were labelled with ingredients. There were vegan options, gluten free, dairy free, soy free and of course, nut free items for kids and adults. Only cooked in canola or olive oil. We chose the vegan english muffin for Didi (no dairy!)

The restaurant had a children's play room with a train set. There was a separate child free section for the restaurant. And daddy said the beer menu was good.

Can you find us?

Daddy was skeptical of all items on the menu. He found the BLT sandwich.

Playing with Achilles and Heimdall, no Quincy

We went to Auntie and Uncle's place for BBQ.  Achilles and Heimdall came out to play after a little coaxing (and lots of kitty treats), but no Quincy.  He stayed under the master bed.

Didi finally got Achilles' attention with handfuls of cat treats!

Playing in the Water!

Found a water park near Uncle T and Auntie J's place in the Pearl. So nice when it's 36 C!

Mommy found Angry Bird bandages.

Didi was over the moon when we came upon these gems in Target. He is wearing 4 bandages right now...one on each limb. Any scrape or itchy area = angry bird!  I think he is using them like stickers.

Voodoo donuts, a Portland classic

I haven't been back to Portland since our flight stop last year. Voodoo Doughnut is a classic. But, this time: a 45 min wait, in the blistering sun! So no doughnuts for us this afternoon. Didi loved the doughnuts display. But, none for him and he was OK with that.

Success in getting these treats! But we went to east Portland store to avoid the wait in downtown. It was a quick car ride after dinner.  I got the sprinkles and pink bubblegum ones. Daddy got M&M's and maple bacon ones. Mommy got easy peasy, lemon cheasy. Uncle T got Portland cream. Yum!  DiDi couldn't have any because they had milk and were fried in soybean oil.  He got Dulce Leche caramel Cherrios instead.... his mini donuts!  Mommy was sure to floss our teeth well tonight

Didi, Daddy and Uncle T love pinball games. And, the voodoo doughnut shop had 4 vintage machines. Didi was fascinated by the flashing bright lights and bouncing  silver balls. Turns out daddy and Uncle T both love playing them. Here they are!  The shop also had a coffin shaped bench, with the lid as the back.  The staff were all pretty strange looking with tattoos, stringy hair and piercings.  Oh well.... that's the look.

Having fun in Portland - Visit to Uncle T and Auntie J

We are visiting Uncle T and Auntie J.

They were fostering a kitten from the humane society.  Otherwise, they had their Quincy and Achilles ... the latter with only 3 legs.  The 2 older cats were very friendly.... until DiDi started to chase them around.  Then, Quincy jumped up to the upper kitchen cabinets and watched us from there.

I was asleep the last time when we visited their condo. Now, it's Didi's turn to be asleep. He was exhausted by our trek around the market. He needed a big nap. Mommy and Daddy brought out the double stroller again. It was super hot.... 39 C today.

Looking for the baby kitten, Heimdall. He is named after a Norse god...something to do with Ragnarök. He is so cute and so tiny! White fur, with pink ears and blue eyes. Just a little shy.

Found him! Lured him out with food. Heimdall is only 2 lbs!

Daddy liked the kitten too. Here he is, purring in Daddy's lap.  Can we take him home??
