What?! Mangoes are nuts??

Oh my goodness! Mommy just found out that mangoes are in the same family as cashews & pistachios. TJ is allergic to peanuts, and tree nuts such as almonds, hazelnuts, pecans, walnuts AND cashews & pistachios. The allergy doctor tested all those.

A peanut is a groundnut, a legume. So are soy beans! Hence the cross-reaction and allergy to both.  And the milk protein allergy is just there.

Didi loves his frozen and dried mangoes for snack.  Mommy is going to stop mangos (juice, dried, fresh, frozen, sorbet) to see if it helps his skin.  She already stopped his macadamian nuts last week.

The mangos are the same family as a nut!   Mango skin, cashew shells & pistachio shells have the same toxins as poison ivy. ... Because they are related. Crazy right? Well, who would have thought there was some truth to the Chinese superstition about NOT eating mangoes when one has skin eczema!

No nuts, mangoes, milk or soy for Didi. Mommy's research continues.
